Introduction

No time to sleep, no time to study, no time to eat, but countless traumatic brain injuries (TBI). You guessed right; I am talking about college-student athletes. As years pass by, the negatives of being a college athlete seem to go up. Specifically, however, college football players have a high correlation with neurological problems. This can be a critical health problem for these athletes which can have long-term effects on their brains. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 75% of all TBI’s are reported to be concussions (CDC, 2017). This statistic let alone should prove how often concussions are occurring and how crucial it is to fix this problem. After facing many lawsuits from college athletes, it is time The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), helps solve this crisis.  After conducting some in depth research, about the effects of concussions on the brain, I have concluded that traumatic brain injuries (such as concussions), and college football player’s neurological problems go hand in hand.
