The Center for Disease Control

On the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, it states how brain injuries can cause epilepsy and increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and more (CDC,2017). A shocking statistic reported by the CDC reveals that TBI's are responsible for 30% of injury related deaths per year in the United States (CDC,2017). The graph to the left indicates how between 2001-2010, there was an increase in hospitalizations, emergency department visits, and deaths, due to TBI's. This further shows how it has only continued growing throughout the years because no actual solution has been implemented by the NCAA to ensure that these college football players live a long and happy life.
